Twelve Middlebury students were chosen to participate in MAlt Dominica in a very competitive application process. The primary focus of the project is sustainable agriculture and education, so our time on the island will be spent volunteering at two organic farms, learning about the challenges and successes of the agricultural sector directly from the local farmers, and transferring that knowledge to the wider community, working with young students at the Grand Fond Primary School. About MOP SPRING BREAK GASPE BC SKIING Spring Break Backcountry Skiing on the Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec The Parc National de la Gaspésie is a veritable sea of mountains located on the Gaspé Peninsula in eastern Quebec. The Chic Choc mountain range is the heart of the Parc, and offers huge annual snow fall and significant vertical relief. These factors make for a truly phenomenal backcountry skiing destination. Conditions permitting, we will spend our days skinning up, and then cranking turns down bowls, glades and couloirs, before returning to our heated cabin to cook hot meals and rest our tired legs. This is a true backcountry environment, and particular emphasis will be placed on appropriate travel techniques and sound decision making in avalanche terrain. While not required, MOP strongly recommends that Gaspe trip participants attend the upcoming J-Term Avalanche Awareness workshop. This trip is suitable for solid intermediate skiers capable of skiing blue-square runs in complete control in all snow conditions. The course fee does not include backcountry ski and skin rentals, if needed. If you have questions about the suitability of this trip for you, please contact us at MOP@middlebury.edu. Spring Break. Book, music, and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. Directed by Douglas Anderson, with musical direction by Carol Christensen. FOR MATURE AUDIENCES Tickets $10/8/6 Due to economic circumstances, senior citizen discounts are no longer available for College events. About WREATHES - FOR FACULTY AND STAFF Dear Fellow Faculty & Staff Members, The baseball team is once again selling Christmas wreaths in another effort to help fund our spring trip. We would appreciate your support by purchasing your Christmas wreaths this year from us. If you wish to buy a wreath, please send the bottom half of this note back to me with a check payable to Middlebury College Baseball for $18.00 plain, $20.00 decorated. One of our players will deliver your order to you in early December. The college will not be purchasing wreaths for offices or buildings again this year so, if you wish to purchase one for your workspace we are happy to supply them. You may also purchase a decorated wreath for a friend or loved one that can be shipped anywhere in the continental U.S. The cost for this is $45.00. Sorry, we can not ship to a PO Box address. Our campus has been great in purchasing a wreath from us over the years and we appreciate your support. This truly helps us to get a jump on the season by getting to a climate where we can go outside. We hope your holiday season will bring you much happiness! Sincerely, Bob Smith Baseball Coach Memorial Field House Close Show Information Box |
